Anti-Money Laundering Policy
1. Introduction
Games Valley is committed to preventing money laundering and the financing of terrorism. This policy outlines our procedures for customer due diligence and compliance with applicable regulations. As a B2B platform serving licensed iGaming operators, we work within the broader regulatory framework to ensure the integrity of the gaming industry.
2. Regulatory Framework
Our AML procedures comply with Romanian Law No. 129/2019 for the prevention and combating of money laundering and the financing of terrorism, EU Directive 2015/849 (AMLD), and relevant guidelines from ONPCSB (National Office for the Prevention and Combating of Money Laundering). We continuously update our procedures to reflect regulatory developments.
3. Know Your Customer (KYC) Procedures
Games Valley applies standard customer due diligence measures to all business relationships. Enhanced verification is applied for transactions at or exceeding the equivalent of €2,000 in a single operation, cumulative transactions reaching €15,000 (whether through a single operation or connected transactions), and relationships with higher-risk jurisdictions or customers.
3.1 Verification Requirements
For business clients, we verify company registration and licensing status, identity of beneficial owners and authorised representatives, source of funds and nature of business activities, and current gambling licences and regulatory standing.
4. Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs)
In accordance with Law 129/2019, we apply enhanced due diligence to Politically Exposed Persons. This includes heads of state, government ministers, members of parliament and legislative bodies, senior judicial figures, ambassadors and high-ranking military officers, members of governing bodies of state-owned enterprises, and directors or board members of international organisations.
Enhanced measures also apply to family members and known close associates of PEPs. The enhanced due diligence period extends for one year following cessation of a public position.
5. Transaction Monitoring
Games Valley employs AI-powered fraud detection and monitoring systems to identify suspicious transaction patterns, unusual activity relative to established customer profiles, transactions involving high-risk jurisdictions, and potential structuring or layering activities. Suspicious activities are reported to the relevant authorities as required by law.
6. Record Keeping
We maintain comprehensive records of all customer due diligence documentation, transaction records and supporting documentation, and correspondence related to AML compliance. Records are retained for the period required by applicable law (minimum 5 years from the end of the business relationship).
7. Staff Training
All relevant personnel receive regular training on AML procedures, suspicious activity identification, and reporting obligations. Our compliance team stays current with regulatory developments and industry best practices.
